The subway is where I ran out of patience with every other reading app. You tap an article, the spinner runs, cell drops out, and the article never loads. You sit there staring at a loading screen for something you already chose to follow.
I wanted it to work like a magazine. You pick it up, you read. No loading. No ads pushing the text around while the page settles. No tracking scripts firing before the content appears.
Slow Web builds your edition in the background before you open it. Feeds are fetched, articles are downloaded, everything stored locally. By the time you tap in, it's already there.
The articles load instantly. They're already on your device. No cell signal needed. No ads, because I'm not serving the live webpage.
The sync runs once a day, timed to finish before your typical reading window. If you open the app early, it builds then. Either way, by the time you're on the platform, it's done.
